Making it possible!

Introducing the team behind The Team!

This is the band of volunteers that make things happen for the swimmers. We wanted to include our photos so that you could recognise us when we all get together. Some of us are a bit camera shy though.

Neil Lacey

Our fabulous coaching team is organised by Neil and includes both male and female coaches. If you have any queries about what we get up to, just drop him a line.

Andrea Manson BEM

Andrea is both a Coach and a Trustee. She has been involved with Down syndrome swimming since 2015 and loves helping the swimmers reach their full potential. For her “it’s all about the ability, not the disability”.

Beverley Rudd-Jones

Beverley is our Membership Secretary. She maintains the membership records and assist the team manager in welcoming new members to the organisation. She also works with the committee on the day to day running of DSS-GB.

Sandra Proudfoot

Sandra is both a Coach and our Safguarding Officer. She has a wealth of experience having been involved with disability sport for many years. She supports both DSS-GB and Special Olympics athletes and National and International events.

Mark Holmes

Mark is the swimmers representative on the committee. He is there to make sure the swimmers have a voice and can express their views on how the organisation should be run.

Julie Evens

Julie is one of the Team Mangers who assists Neil with the admin tasks and is part of the poolside team for all events. Julie is also our Records Officer. Please contact her with queries about submitting record applications.

Veronique Garrett

This is Veronique. She’s one of our social media team and helps to keep the communications flowing. If you have anything you’d like to share with the group, please email her.

Alison Reed

Ali is both a Trustee and our Secretary. She squeezes these roles in around her family commitments and love of running. If you’d like to get in touch just drop her a line.
