Yet another fantastic weekend of swimming at the Down Syndrome Swimming Federation European Down Syndrome Open Swimming Competition held at The Quays Southampton.
It was another successful event for the swimmers from DSS-GB. Medals were won, PBs were smashed and records were set. An unbelievable 23 DSS-GB swimmers achieved top 3 places over the course of the weekend. Here are some the top successes:
Ellen Stephenson: 100m breaststroke, 200m backstroke and 200m freestyle Mosaic Open World Records
Helen Thompson: 100m IM T21 Junior World Record
Mark Holmes: 50m backstroke, 100m IM and 100m butterfly T21 World and European Master 2 Records
Alexandra Edwards 50m and 100m butterfly Mosaic European Records
Congratulations to all the DSS-GB swimmers for their fantastic performances and great attitude. Lots of our swimmers achieved the Qualifying Times they needed for the DSISO European Championships in Sardinia in September.
As much fun was had out of the pool as in it as team members and carers alike, spent time together meeting up with old friends and making new friendships.
