What a fabulous weekend of swimming at the Down Syndrome Swimming Federation European Down Syndrome Open Swimming Competition held at The Quays Southampton.
DSS-GB swimmers have been putting in extra effort in their training in the build-up to the World Championships in July and it showed. PBs were smashed by many swimmers and the following world records were broken:
Ellen Stephenson: 50m backstroke Open mosaic
Harvey Stonebank: 25m backstroke Open mosaic
Billy Birchmore: 200m backstroke Open T21
Lizzie Allen: 25m freestyle Junior T21
Congratulations to all the DSS-GB swimmers for their fantastic performances and great attitude. As much fun was had out of the pool as in it.
A huge thank you as well to all the volunteer coaches and support staff who make all this happen.
Next stop – the world championships. Let’s show the world what we can do!
